I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics again, and I've started a couple of games so far. The first game used three generics, and together with Ramza they mastered four different jobs at a time. This was a great system, but it meant that the special characters saw no real use. This offends my sense of role play.
So recently I started another game using only Ramza, training him along the Knight path. He leveled up very quickly (and the monsters along with him) so I had to dance around monsters until I could "Yell" my speed up to 50 and then trounce them. Problem with this is that the upper level classes wouldn't unlock until I made Ramza level up in classes outside of the typical track.
So now I'm going to try a via media: Ramza and one generic. Between the two of them, they can level the physically-oriented jobs completely, perhaps even before Chapter II; then Agrias and Mustadio can pick up the slack as my "Black Mage" and "Priest", respectively.
